Wages remain constant, 1% rise from 2014

(ANSA) - Rome, April 23 - Italian workers' hourly contractual wages remained constant in March with respect to February, but were up 1% compared to the same month in 2014, national statistics agency Istat reported on Thursday.
    Civil servants saw no increase due to a freeze in public administration contracts, while the private sector saw a 1.5% increase.
    Sectors with the biggest increases are telecommunications (3.5%), rubber, plastic and processing non-metallic minerals (3.3%) and energy and petroleum and mineral extraction (3.0%).
