(ANSA) - Milan, March 27 - An increase in employment
figures is the most encouraging sign yet of Italy emerging from
recession, Confindustria employers' federation President Giorgio
Squinzi said Friday.
"The recovery in employment encourages us most and the fact
that this happens before the stability law and the Jobs Act is
an evident indicator of productive recovery," he said.
The figure of 76 permanent job contracts "indicates
positive expectations with a more extended timeframe, not just
limited to short term" jobs, he said.
"For Confindustria so many expectations put into a
determined reform of the labour market courageously taken
forward by the government is turning out to be right".
Squinzi acknowledged that in addition to labour market
reforms "in a phase of expansion choices also are needed
focussing immediately on re-launching investments that feed
growth and internal demand".
