Fiat Chrysler not concerned by EC probe

Fiat Chrysler CEO says investigators 'screwed up'

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Paris, October 2 - Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said Thursday that he is not concerned with allegations from the European Commission that a Fiat subsidiary may have broken competition rules.
Marchionne said that EC investigators "have screwed up" with a report earlier this week saying that Fiat Finance and Trade, the automaker's finance arm, may have broken competition rules and could face fines over favourable tax regimes it enjoys in Luxembourg and Ireland.
The EC "has made a mess" by investigating FFT, computer giant Apple and coffee giant Starbucks at the same time, added Marchionne, who was speaking at the Paris Motor Show.
The commission has asked the companies for further information.
Fiat Finance and Trade has been based in Luxembourg since its incorporation in 1997.
