(ANSA) - Rome, July 24 - Italian consumer confidence fell
for the second consecutive month in July, national statistics
agency Istat said Thursday.
The agency said its consumer-confidence index dropped to
104.6 points this month from 105.6 in June.
Consumer confidence is important because people tend to
spend less if they are pessimistic about the economic climate,
which will make recovery from Italy's longest postwar recession
more difficult.
