Industrial orders, revenues down in Feb

But year-on-year data shows improvements

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Rome, April 18 - Industrial revenues and orders fell in February with respect to the previous month, Istat said Friday, in a sign that the Italian economy is still not out of the woods after emerging from its longest postwar recession last year.
The national statistics agency said revenues fell 1.5% in February with respect to January, the biggest month-on-month drop since January 2013.
It added that industrial orders were down 3.1% in February on January, above all because of a 4.4% drop on foreign commissions.
The year-on-year data, however, gave some positive signals.
Istat said that despite the monthly drop, revenues in February were still 1.2% higher than the same time last year, according to seasonally adjusted figures.
Orders were up 2.8% on February 2013, according to raw data not adjusted for seasonal variations.
