(ANSA) - ROME, APR 22 - The Commissariat General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ICCJ) on Monday, April 22, signed a protocol of cooperation and agreement as part of strategic accords to showcase the country's economic and cultural assets at the Italian Pavilion.
The protocol favours the participation of the Italian entrepreneurial and industrial system at Expo 2025 Osaka, in particular Italian businesses present in Japan and with a strong interest in expanding in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Italian pavilion and ICCJ will cooperate in the organization of joint events, seminars, workshops and talks on specific issues which are in line with the themes of Italy's participation in the Universal Exposition.
The main initiatives to be jointly developed will include providing information nationally and internationally regarding Italy's presence at Expo 2025 Osaka and the related initiatives.
The Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, Ambassador Mario Vattani, said the partnership with ICCJ "is important.
"We will work together to provide information on Expo and on all the opportunities opening up for our companies in Japan and in Asia", he commented.
"The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan includes among its partners many Japanese businesses that have developed strong connections with our production system.
"The Japanese economic world is familiar with the know-how of Italian manufacturing, appreciates it, and so it can be a true platform to get the entire Indo-Pacific area better acquainted with it", he said.
Davide Fantoni, the secretary general of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, said that "we have just signed the cooperation agreement with the Commissariat General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka and thus the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan is officially a partner of the Italian Pavilion.
"We are sure that we can give a great contribution to Italian small and medium-sized businesses which, alone, would not have the means of promoting themselves in Japan.
"Together with the Italian Pavilion, we are ready to outline a program of events and initiatives: Italy's presence at Expo 2025 Osaka is an extraordinary opportunity to foster the growth of our entrepreneurial and industrial world.
"We will be alongside the Italian Pavilion in this adventure", he noted.
The central theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, "Designing Future Society for Our Lives", will offer a global platform to exhibit technical and scientific innovations that improve living conditions.
Italy and Japan are connected by a strategic partnership.
Italy's objective is to promote the innovation and internationalization of its productive system during the Universal Exposition that involves 160 countries, scheduled to be held from April 13 until October 13, 2025.
The event is expected to attract about 30 million visitors.
