(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 27 - A ballistics report regarding a shot fired from a gun that injured a man at a party on New Year's Eve points the finger at the Italian MP who owns the weapon, Emanuele Pozzolo, according to reports in daily newspapers La Repubblica, il Corriere della Sera and La Stampa on Wednesday.
Pozzolo is under investigation over the accidental shooting in the town of Rosazza and has been suspended from Premier Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy (FdI) party.
He says that, although he owns the gun, it was not him who fired it.
The shot injured in the thigh Luca Campana, the partner of the daughter of the bodyguard of Justice Undersecretary Andrea Delmastro, who was also at the party.
Campana said he saw Pozzolo rest the mini revolver on a table just before the shot went off.
The ballistics report confirms this version of events, on the basis of the bullet's trajectory and power that was found on the table, among other things, the dailies said. (ANSA).
