(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 20 - Deliveroo Italy and Uber Eats Italy, which has now left the Italian market, were ordered to pay their riders social-security and pension contributions by the Labour Section of the Milan Court in two separate cases this week, sources said Friday.
The two food delivery companies, already at the centre with two others in 2021 of a pilot investigation by the Milan public prosecutor's office on the working and safety conditions of about 60 thousand riders, will have to pay INPS contributions for thousands of riders, for a total, not yet calculated exactly, which could reach several tens of millions of euro, the sources said.
The judge's decision concerns 2016-2020 in one case and 2020-21 in the other (ANSA).
