(see related) (ANSA) - ROME, SEP 5 - Premier Giorgia Meloni hailed the huge operation conducted by police on Tuesday in the Camorra mafia-ridden town of Caivano near Naples, where two cousins aged 10 and 12 were allegedly raped by a group of youths recently.
"Today the operation to clean up Caivano's Parco Verde district began," Meloni said via social media.
"The big operation launched at dawn this morning - for which I thank the police involved - is just the start of the long path that the government is committed to pursuing to restore law, order and security and make the strong presence of the State felt.
"And to lay down the foundations for social reconstruction and the rebirth of the territory.
"(We will always be) fast and unhesitant against crime. Until there are no more no-fly zones (to the State) in Italy".
Among the material confiscated in the dawn raids were 150 bullets, including some for Kalashnikovs, and an improvised explosive device (IED) (ANSA).
