Further arrivals on Lampedusa, 4,267 migrants in hotspot

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 27 - There were 4,267 migrants and refugees in the Lampedusa hotspot early on Sunday morning following the arrival of 2,172 people in 55 landings on Saturday and 208 people in four landings since midnight.
    Systematic transfers were due to continue throughout the day, with a first group of 550 people due to depart by passenger ferry in the morning and 140 by military aircraft in the late afternoon/evening.
    On Saturday a total of 1,061 people were transferred from the hotspot to Porto Empedocle, Augusta and Comiso. (ANSA).
