(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 7 - Pope Francis is currently undergoing
surgery to fix a hernia that has formed over an old abdominal
scar, Vatican sources said Wednesday.
According to ANSA sources, Francis is undergoing surgery under
general anaesthesia to perform a laparotomy and plastic surgery
of the abdominal wall with prostheses.
At Rome's Gemelli Hospital, he is being operated on by the team
of Professor Sergio Alfieri who had already operated on him two
years ago. (ANSA).
