God wants gays in Church says pope

'Great answer given by Jesus: everyone welcome' says Francis

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 10 - God wants everyone in the Catholic Church including gays because the Gospel says so, Pope Francis told the Argentine news agency Infobae Friday echoing past statements on the subject.
"The great answer was given by Jesus: everyone, everyone in," said Francis.
"When the guests did not want to go to the banquet he said: go there to the crossroads and call everyone. Good people, bad people, old people, young people: everyone.
"This is a Church of sinners. I don't know where the Church of the saints is, we are all sinners here. And who am I to judge a person if he has good will? If he is more of the devil's gang, well, let us defend ourselves a little. But there is a major magnifying glass being put on this issue today. I think we have to go to the essence of the Gospel: Jesus calls everyone".
The statement to the Argentine news agency echoed Francis's famous statement shortly after taking up the papacy 10 years ago: "Who am I to judge?" Catholic dogma holds that active homosexuality is a disorder and a sin, while celibacy by gays is admitted. (ANSA).
