Violent dad gets 20 yrs for abusing wife and daughters

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 3 - A 43-year-old violent Italian father got 20 years in jail Friday for mistreating and abusing his wife and four daughters for almost 20 years, from 2003 to 2021.
    A Milan court found him guilty of subjecting his wife and four daughters to 'horrific' violence of all kinds, such as forcing one of the girls to 'eat on the floor, without cutlery, like an animal' or holding a 'plastic bag' over his wife's head.
    For the charges of ill-treatment, sexual violence and extortion, the man, described as a 'padre padrone' as in the title of a famous film on domineering farmer fathers, was found guilty on all counts.
    The man, in prison since December 2021 and who had lived with his family between Naples and Milan, was sentenced to the 20 years' imprisonment by the ninth criminal section of the Milan Court, following an investigation by public prosecutor Giovanni Tarzia. (ANSA).
