(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 2 - Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said
Thursday he hoped there would be peace talks on Ukraine this
year.
"I hope that peace talks will arrive by the end of 2023", said
Tajani, on 'Casa Italia' on Rai state broadcaster.
"The risk of an escalation and the worsening of the military
situation should not be underestimated, but we must do
everything so that the door to dialogue is not closed and we
must support all those who play a role in getting Putin and
Zelensky to sit at the table," such as Turkey and the Vatican,
he explained.
"Creating a free zone around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power
plant may be a first step". (ANSA).
