Reaffirm strong cohesion in support for Kyiv - Meloni

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 30 - Premier Giorgia Meloni told a press conference after talks in Rome Monday with European Council President Charles Michel that the EU must reaffirm strong cohesion in its support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion at the upcoming European Council meeting.
    "At the European Council it will be crucial to reaffirm the constant and strong European cohesion in supporting Kyiv", she said.
    Meloni, both before and after becoming premier after the September 25 general election, has been unwavering in her support for Western aid to Ukraine against Moscow's invasion.
    There will be a special European Council on February 9-10 on Ukraine, migration and other top issues.
    Michel visited Rome Monday to continue laying the groundwork for the session. (ANSA).
