(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 23 - The Cost of living for a median
household of four people went up 3,000 euros last year, Codacons
consumer group said at the weekend.
Rampant inflation linked to the war in Ukraine and surging
energy bills pushed up the prices of goods and services in all
sectors, from food to transport and from tourism to hospitality,
it said.
Electrical power bills rose by a whopping 110.4% in 2022,
Codacons said.
Air fares rose by 85.9% on 2021, and the average gas bill by
73.7%.
But "the monster hikes did not spare any part of daily life,"
the consumer group said.
For instance, the price of sunflower oil went up by 51.5%,
heating fuel by 38.4%, and other fuels (GPL, methane) by 33.3%.
