(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 18 - A school janitor is commuting every
day between Naples and Milan because she can't afford to rent a
flat in the northern city, she told reporters Wednesday.
The woman, 29-year-old Giuseppina Giuliano, leaves Naples train
station on a high-speed Frecciarossa at five o'clock each day to
get to an artistic liceo in Milan where her shift runs from
10:30 to 17:00, she said.
Hired in September, Giuliano said "I tried to find a house that
didn't cost too much, considering that my monthly salary is
1,165 euros.
"But I realised that it's easier to find a needle in a haystack
in Milan".
Giuliano lives in Naples about half an hour from the station
with her parents, grandmother and her two dogs.
"That allows me to not have any further expenditure other than
the train and so I consider myself lucky". (ANSA).
