'I'm faced with a woman, don't care about rule' said teacher

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 10 - An 18-year-old transgender student suffered discrimination at a Rome high school after a teacher refused to recognise his male gender recently, gay groups said Thursday calling for action by the school authorities and education ministry.
Gay Centre called for "immediate investigations and possible disciplinary measures" against the male teacher, who reportedly told the young man "I have a woman in front of me, I don't care about the rule" whereby the student was allowed to pursue his 'alias' identity and courses.
Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara vowed action saying "school is the place par excellence devoted to the development and realization of the human person and cannot obviously admit inside it any form of discrimination".
The incident happened at the Liceo Cavour classical high school.
