Man, 22, dies after being stabbed in leg near Palermo

Femoral artery severed in fight

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 12 - A 22-year-old man died in hospital Friday after being stabbed in the leg in a fight near Palermo Thursday night.
    Doctors said the knife had severed the femoral artery of US-born Vincenzo Trovato, from Balestrate, about 25km south of the Sicilian capital.
    He is believed to have died of loss of blood.
    An autopsy has been ordered.
    It is not yet known whether Trovato was on holiday from the USA or lived in Ballestrate.
    Police are viewing CCTV footage in an attempt to identify his assailant. (ANSA).
