INAIL reports 254,000 workplace accidents in 4 mts, 261 deaths

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 31 - Labour-accidents-and-illness-insurance agency INAIL said Tuesday that it received 254,493 reports of workplace accidents in Italy in the first four months of 2022, an increase of 48.1% with respect to the same period last year.
    It said 261 of those accidents were fatal, a drop of 14.7% compared to the same period in 2021.
    The agency said it registered 19,287 cases of illness stemming from professional situations, a rise of 3.5%.
    INAIL stressed that the figures were provisional. (ANSA).
