Four arrests as Italy police smash international drug ring

Turin-based gang brought cocaine into Europe from Africa

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 20 - Italian police made four arrests as they smashed an international drug trafficking ring bringing narcotics into Europe from Africa via Milan's Malpensa Airport.
    A Nigerian passenger was arrested from a a flight from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia after he was found to have swallowed over 1,500 grammes of cocaine in 92 ovules.
    In all, the police op bagged over three kilos of cocaine.
    The ring was based in Turin, police said.
    Another courier, a Nigerian woman, was arrested in the Piedmont capital with over 530 grammes of cocaine in her possession.
