(ANSA) - ROME, APR 14 - Carabinieri police in the regions of
Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and Sardinia and officials from
the national labour inspectorate said Thursday that they had
uncovered fraudulent claims for the 'citizenship wage'
minimum-income benefit worth over five million euros between
January 2021 and February 2022.
They said 955 people have been reported to criminal prosecutors
in relation to these claims.
They said several people failed to declare properties, made
false statements about the composition of their families or
their places of residence or failed to mention they were subject
to restrictions on their freedom linked to convictions or
criminal charges. (ANSA).
