(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 16 - A 33-year-old teacher, Francesco
Chiarello, has died of his injuries in hospital after setting
himself alight outside a Carabinieri police barracks in the
southern Italian town of Rende on January 31.
The reason for the self-immolation is not known.
Chiarello underwent serval operations at the burns centre of
Naples' Cardarelli hospital but his injuries were too bad for
doctors to be able to save him. (ANSA).
