(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 19 - Tuscany and the Autonomous Province of Trento have joined 15 other Italian regions participating in the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
This means the current World Fair has set a new record in terms of the participation of Italian local/regional bodies at a Universal Expo.
Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Marche, Piedmont, Apulia, Sardinia, Sicily, Umbria, Veneto have been taking part in Pavilion events, including international-level initiatives and days specifically dedicated to the regions, since Expo kicked off in October.
"For our Regions and territories, Expo 2020 Dubai - the first Universal Expo to be held in a country of the Arab, Middle-Eastern, North African and South-East Asia region - is a unique stage that can boost visibility in a world that over the next few years will offer remarkable investment opportunities, while also giving new momentum to the flow of international tourists," said Regional Affairs Minister Mariastella Gelmini.
"The Italian Regions take centre stage: Italy's project for Expo 2020 Dubai chiefly aims at enhancing the artistic, productive and scientific fabric of Italian territories, including thanks to the strong involvement of the territories and their excellences and special characteristics".
In Dubai, Italy's regions are presenting the "know-how" of enterprises operating in key sectors of the Italian and global economy: aerospace, manufacturing and craftsmanship, cinema, automotive, tourism, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, climate change, sustainable agriculture, seamanship and management of water resources.
Aside from the fora, the Regions have presented their territories to the visitors through dozens of events, cultural initiatives, theatrical shows, workshops and training activities. (ANSA).
