World junior shooting champ dies after hunting accident

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 7 - Italy's world junior shooting champion died Friday after a hunting accident in which he shot himself in the abdomen near Pisa while leaning down to pick up empty cartridges.
    Cristian Ghilli, 19, world junior skeet champ, died overnight in a hospital at Cecina in Tuscany.
    Doctors tried to stop the internal bleeding in an emergency operation but were unable to save his life.
    Ghilli had been hunting with friends in woods at Montecatini Val di Cecina, in the province of Pisa. (ANSA).
