(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 22 - Italy added the world pursuit track cycling title to their Olympic crown with victory over France in Roubaix on Friday.
The winning team was made up of Simone Consonni, Liam Bertazzo, Jonathan Milan and Filippo Ganna, who in September retained his road cycling time-trial world title.
It was Italy's first victory in the event at the world championships since 1997.
Italy already has three gold medals at the 2021 world championships, with Martina Fidanza winning the scratch event and Letizia Paternoster's victory in the elimination. (ANSA).
