Gorizia-Nova Gorica showcase for EU spirit-Mattarella-Pahor

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 21 - President Sergio Mattarella told Slovenian President Borut Pahoron on a visit to Gorizia and Nova Gorica, joint European culture capital in 2025, on Thursday that "this border is once more a moment of choice and union, a border that turns into an element of connection and collaboration, able to promote growth together.
    He said the events that will lead to Go! 2025, a celebration of transborder unity, will be a "showcase for the authentic European spirit".
    Mattarella added that there should be no "uncertainty" about the need to enlarge the EU to include the Western Balkans. (ANSA).
