(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 23 - The number of sick notes filed to employers in Italy rose 22% in the fourth quarter of last year due to COVID-19, pensions and social security agency INPS said Tuesday.
In total, they were 7,155,050, up from 5,864,193 in the same quarter of 2019.
"The increase is probably due to the impact of the second wave of COVID-19", INPS said.
The rise was more marked in the private sector, up 25.6%, than in the public sector, up 11.2%. (ANSA).
