(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 16 - Some 99.5% of students passed the maturità school-leaving exam this year, the education ministry said Thursday.
The taxing exam, the equivalent of a French 'bac', often has a lower pass rate.
Last year, however, it was 99.7%.
One in two of the high-school graduates this year got a mark of 80 or more out of a 100, an unusually high rate.
This year the exam consisted of a single oral exam because of the COVID crisis. (ANSA).
