(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 23 - Finance police on Tuesday arrested 13 people in relation to a probe into alleged kickbacks and rigged tenders for Milan metro contracts.
Among the people arrested was Paolo Bellini, a manager for Milan public transport company ATM who was in charge of signalling and automation systems for the Milan metro.
Two managers working for Alstom Ferroviari and one for Siemens Mobility were also detained.
The probe regards eight contracts worth 150 million euros.
Milan prosecutor Francesco Greco said that Bellini is accused of taking 125,000 euros in bribes in 2018 and 2019.
He said the investigation had uncovered "the existence of a system of methodical alteration of tender competitions called by ATM" that gravitated around Bellini.
