Don't go too far with the disinfecting says ISS chief

(ANSA) - Rome, June 4 - Italians should not go too far in disinfecting to shield against the coronavirus where surfaces are already kept clean and the virus in easy to deactivate, Higher Health Institute (ISS) President Silvio Brusaferro said Thursday.
    He said that an excessive amount of disinfectants gets into the waste cycle, to its detriment.
    As for facemasks, Brusaferro said very sophisticated ones should not be used at a domestic level.
    He said the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) should be used according to the context.
    Surgical masks can be used for 2-6 hours, Brusaferro said.
    They should not be re-used or recycled, he said.
