Coronavirus: Food requests up 50% - Caritas (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, April 1 - Catholic charity Caritas said Wednesday that requests for food due to the coronavirus crisis across Italy had risen by 20-50%. It said it had immediately used some two million euros of the 10 million placed at its disposal by the Italian Bishops Conference (CEI), and was ready to spend another four million.
    Caritas doles out food to the needy across the country, as well as operating food banks.
