Coronavirus: No risk of losing school year - Azzolina

Schools may put off closure but won't be necessary

(ANSA) - Rome, February 26 - There is no risk of any Italian students losing this school year because of the coronavirus emergency, Education Minister Lucia Azzolina said on Italian radio Wednesday.
    "I can assure listeners that there is no risk of our students losing the year," she told Radio 24.
    She referred to a norms that lays down that "the validity of the school year is safe even when unpredictable situations occur".
    Azzolina said "schools in their scholastic autonomy may foresee lengthening the year but it won't be necessary because we have already activated a task force to guarantee tele-teaching".
