(ANSA) - Rome, July 17 - The city of Rome intends to bid to host the 2022 European European Aquatics Championships. Mayor Virginia Raggi has signed a memorandum that had been approved by her executive expressing the council's interest in bidding for the Games, sources said.
Rome successfully hosted the World Aquatics Championships in 2009.
Raggi scuppered Rome's bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics months after being elected mayor in 2016.
