PD will win over 20% in Europe elections - Zingaretti

(AANSA) - Rome, May 9 - The centre-left opposition Democratic Party (PD) will win over 20% in the European elections on May 26, PD leader Nicola Zingaretti said Thursday.
    He said "if our list wins a political phase will close and the government will go home".
    "It's the only symbol, that of our joint list, that can end this political cycle," he said.
    "I think we'll get more than 20%, we'll reach that result".
    The PD is vying to become the second biggest party in the polls ahead of the ruling 5-Star Movement (M5S), which is also polling around 20%.
    The M5S's government coalition partner, the League, is polling at around 33% as top party.
    In the general election last year, the M5S got 33%, and the League and the PD both about 18%.
