Amazon drivers on strike in Lombardy, deliveries halted

Little impact says company, strike backed by unions

(ANSA) - Rome, February 26 - Some 700 contracted delivery personnel for Amazon in the Lombardy region went on strike on Tuesday to protest working conditions. The company said that the strike had not affected it much. Trade unions supported the strike and the workers' demonstration under the company offices in Piazza 25 Aprile in Milan. The company noted that it had asked suppliers to comply with the Amazon Code of Conduct and to "ensure that drivers receive fair compensation, that they are treated with respect, that all regulations are followed and that they drive safely".
