(ANSA) - Rome, February 19 - Delta and EasyJet may invest up to 400 million euros to have a stake in the new Alitalia, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with a draft of the investment plan.
Last week it was announced that advanced negotiations were being kicked off for Delta Airlines and EasyJet to be industrial partners in the new Alitalia, with the Italian State also set to have a major role.
Former flag-carrier Alitalia has been in administration for two years.
The combined stake of the Treasury and the State-owned Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) rail group in the newco for the new Alitalia could be over the 50% mark, Deputy Premier and Labour and Industry Minister Luigi Di Maio told a meeting with union representatives on Thursday, according to sources.
According to the Bloomberg report, FS could have a stake of around 30%, with the Treasury having a minority holding of 15-25%.
