(ANSA) - Rome, February 18 - An MP with the populist League party, Alessandro Morelli, has submitted a bill in the Lower House that would require radio stations to make one-third of their playlist only Italian music, with another 10% for emerging artists and small record labels. The bill would also require that Italian music be considered "cultural heritage protected by the Constitution".
Morelli, currently chair of the Lower House transport committee, was formerly director of the League party's radio station, Radio Padania.
