Strasbourg 'concerned' by security law in letter to Conte

(ANSA) - Strasbourg, February 7 - The commissioner for human rights of the Council of Europe, Dunja Mijatovic, on Thursday expressed "concern" in a letter to Italian Premier Giuseppe Conte over the repercussions for migrants and asylum seekers of recent migrant and security legislation. Mijatovic wrote that she was concerned for the possible "repercussions of the security decree on the right to access accommodation and essential services, healthcare and education, for residents who have a residency permit for humanitarian reasons and by disconcerting information reporting that a number of them would risk becoming homeless".
