(ANSA) - Pescara, January 23 - Environment Minister Sergio Costa said Wednesday that he would not sign new permits for offshore drilling and was not worried about the consequences. "I'm against drilling. Drilling (permits) go through environmental-impact assessments and I won't sign them," Costa said at a rally for the 5-Star Movement's (M5S) candidate for next month's regional elections in Abruzzo.
"If I face a no-confidence test, I'll go back to being a Carabinieri police general". The minister also said he was against the creation of new waste incinerators.
