(ANSA) - Rome, January 18 - Political union is "inevitable"
for the European Union, European Affairs Minister Paolo Savona
said Friday.
"We must arrive at political union, which will be
inevitable," said Savona, known for his Euroskeptical views.
Speaking at a conference on the future of Europe, Savona
pointed out the shortcomings of present EU policies and
institutions.
He said I am not a Euroenthusiast because I can't see the
Europe that would be necessary".
