(ANSA) - Rome, January 16 - Defence Minister Elisabetta
Trenta on Wednesday demanded that an investigation get to the
bottom of hazing allegations by a woman pilot cadet.
"It's an extremely serious case, which I am following with
attention," Trenta said.
"There's an ongoing probe and whoever must pay will pay," she
said.
The former cadet, Giulia Jasmine Schiff, said she had been
through a "baptism of flight" including being forced to headbutt
a plane wing and dive into a swimming pool.
The alleged hazing, complete with sexist remarks and insults,
was allegedly so bad she quit the pilot training programme, she
told Corriere della Sera newspaper.
