Two-thirds of 18-34-yr-olds live with parents

Proportion of Italians in family home above EU average of 50%

(ANSA) - Rome, December 17 - Almost two-thirds of people in Italy aged between 18 and 34, 66.4%, still lived in the parental home in 2017, compared to an EU average of 50%, according to figures released by Eurostat.
    Only Croatia, Malta and Greece had higher rates of young people living at home. The distance between Italy and the rest of Europe increases in the 25-34 age range, when most young people should have finished their studies and started work.
    In Italy 49.3% in this age range are still at home, compared to an EU average of 30.6%.
