League, M5S insist no delay on 'quota 100' and basic income

Conte in Lower House Tuesday and in Brussels Wednesday

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Rome, December 11 - The League and the 5-Star Movement insisted on Tuesday that there will be no delay in implementing their projected budget initiatives of a basic income and a 'quota 100' early retirement scheme, despite the fact that time is growing short in light of the EU's ultimatum to Italy to modify its budget to avoid sanctions for excessive spending.
A meeting on Monday evening between Premier Giuseppe Conte and Economy Minister Giovanni Tria produced no changes, sources said.
Conte will be in the Lower House on Tuesday, and will travel to Brussels on Wednesday to meet with EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
