Salvini tops voter confidence poll

63% think budget should change, 53% say abandon basic income

(ANSA) - Rome, November 29 - League leader and Deputy Premier Matteo Salvini again topped a voter confidence poll on Thursday with 49%, down 1% on last week, ahead of Premier Giuseppe Conte on 46% and the other deputy premier, 5-Star Movement (M5S9 leader Luigi Di Maio, on 43%.
    The latter pair were also a point down in the EMG Acqua poll for Raitre.
    The poll also found that 63% of Italians think the 2019 budget bill, rejected by the EU, should change, and 53% thought that the government should abandon plans to introduce a universal basic income, mainly aimed at job seekers.
