The exhibition celebrates and explains the identity and value of the well-known movement, with special attention to Italy, analyzing a period from the very first pre-Romantic expressions to the Unification of Italy and the success of Realism.
At Fondazione Carriero, the protagonist is conceptual art in the show "Giulio Paolini. Del Bello Ideale", which will run from October 26 until February 10 and covers 57 years of the Turin artist's career. In non-chronological order and marked by thematic centers that are combined with the architecture of the building, Paolini's various masterpieces are exhibited: from Senza Titolo (1961) to Monogramma (1965) and Nécessaire (1968), some of his most famous self-portraits and 3 new works made specifically for the occasion. ALBA - "Dal Nulla al Sogno. Dada e Surrealismo dalla Collezione del Museo Boijmans Van Beuningen" is an exhibition that will be hosted from October 27 until February 25 at Fondazione Ferrero on the borders between the poetics of the two well-known movements. Duchamp, Dalì, Man Ray and Picabia are only a few of the artists in a show divided into 9 sections analyzing central themes such as chance, aesthetic ugliness, dreams, the subconscious, relations with ancient art and the link between art and ideology. ROME - One of the most beloved Italian actors of all time will be celebrated in an homage at Ara Pacis with "Marcello Mastroianni", an exhibition that will be open to the public between October 26 and February 17 to tell of his life and career. Through his most beautiful portraits, heirlooms and traces of his films and shows, photos and tales, writings, accounts by those who knew him and reviews, the exhibition highlights aspects both known and unknown about Mastroianni as a man and as an actor, from his biggest film successes to his work in the theater. PALERMO - International artists who speak to each other and create a constellation of linguistic expressions is the fulcrum of the show "Foresta Urbana" in Piazza Bologni, Palazzo Belmonte Riso, from October 27 until January 20. The project aims to create an ideal, symbolic, metaphorical forest, bringing together such big-names artists as Ai Weiwei, Richard Long, Ernesto Neto and Benedetto Pietromarchi, all of whom used the interpretation of nature and its manipulation as original compositional elements to formulate new aesthetic and representational codes.
NAPLES - From October 28 until November 26, the Maschio Angioino hosts "Ci Rivedremo a Filippi", a show on Franz Borghese. In an ironic, surreal atmosphere, the project - which takes its name from a famous saying handed down through the generations since antiquity - includes 8 tempera paintings, 20 drawings and 7 watercolors as well as a bronze sculpture in which the artist makes fun of the middle class and its hypocrisy.
