(ANSA) - Genoa, October 18 - A Brazilian dancer suffering domestic abuse was cleared of killing her Italian husband in June 2017 because she acted in self-defence, a Genoa court found Thursday.
Alessia Mendes, 40, killed Alessio Rossi, 35, after a row.
Mendes said she killed Rossi because he was beating her for the umpteenth time.
It later emerged he had been reported twice for mistreatment and bodily harm.
The prosecutor had requested a 16-year sentence.
