Reports of VAT rise false - Di Maio

(ANSA) - Rome, September 20 - Deputy Premier and Labour and Industry Minister Luigi Di Maio said Thursday that reports the government will not avert a rise in value-added tax (VAT) that is scheduled to kick in unless financial coverage is found in the budget are false. "It's fake news. It's absolutely untrue," Di Maio told Radio 24.
    "This government will not give with one hand and take with the other".
