No UN resolution on fats, salt - sources

(ANSA) - New York, July 18 - There is no resolution or other vote scheduled at the United Nations on fats or salt in foodstuffs, diplomatic sources said Wednesday after Italian fears about parmesan, mozzarella and olive oil. The General Assembly meeting on September 27 on non-transmissible diseases will end with a political declaration, they said, to be adopted by consensus.
    Negotiations are ongoing on the topic, the sources said.
