8 nabbed for graft inc Sicily mayor (3)

(ANSA) - Catania, February 23 - Italian police on Friday arrested eight people in graft probe including the mayor of Acireale near Catania, Roberto Barbagallo, elected on a civic list. The eight are suspected of corruption and bid-rigging, police sources said.
    Five people were taken to jail and three placed under house arrest, judicial sources said.
